Batanga Shareholders Launch College Marketing Group

Friday, January 9th, 2009

New York, NY (January 9, 2009) — Two Batanga shareholders, Jesus Diaz Jr. and Anthony Aldaño, launch TAG Latino, a marketing agency that delivers integrated programs — both online and offline — to reach the New Generation Latino market. The partners, which include Allan Suarez and Robert Diaz, are responsible for successfully creating and growing niche brands, such as iCaramba.com, a social networking site for young Latinos, LatinosStep, a national events tournament and Latino University Magazine, with a BPA-Audited circulation of 300,000 at high-density Hispanic colleges.

Current COO and former Director of Events at Batanga, Jesus Diaz Jr. says: “With the Hispanic buying power projected to be $1.3 trillion by 2015, college is going to be a key demographic that companies need to reach.  These are the brand-loyal, future decision makers in corporate America that are transitioning into head of households.  Because of our extensive college network and unique relationships with more than 250 high-density Latino campuses, we can quickly deliver this lucrative demographic.”

In 2008, TAG Latino created the interactive brands, Greekster.tv and the Smooth Tour, a national collegiate competition sponsored by Pizza Hut that lives online and integrates with live events.  By December 2008, the program delivered more than 3,000,000 impressions via an “Upload your Video” contest and is slated for 10 cities in 2009.  Fotolog.com, the fourth most active online social network with 20 million members, hired TAG Latino to drive U.S. Hispanic web traffic.  TAG Latino increased their traffic by 30 percent in just under three months via their extensive relationships with Latino media companies.  In 2009, TAG Latino is developing a Collegiate Conference, sponsored by Yum Brands, to focus on the personal and professional development of juniors, seniors and recent alumni.
